The Friends reunion was harder to film than anticipated, according to Jennifer Aniston. Speaking on the Literally! With Rob Lowe podcast, she said going back to the set was nostalgic but also melancholy because a lot had changed in 16 years for all of them. Cameras were everywhere and emotions were high, leading to tears from all cast members except David Schwimmer. Filming took place across 2020 and was completed in April 2021 before being released in May. The reunion was watched by approximately 29% of streaming households in the US.
