Supernatural veteran Felicia Day expressed her interest in returning to the Supernatural universe in an exclusive interview with Screen Rant. Although The Winchesters is a prequel set in the 1970s, Day's character Charlie was born in 1985. However, she could portray one of Charlie's family members who encountered Mary and John Winchester during their younger years. Day revealed that she would jump at any opportunity to be part of the world of Supernatural again, especially since The Winchesters showrunner Robbie Thompson created her character.
