The CW's The Winchesters, a prequel to the popular show Supernatural, introduces Latika "Lata" Dar, played by Nida Kurshid, a demon hunter in training and Mary's close friend. According to Kurshid, fans can expect to see a big, main villain in the series, which will be gradually revealed throughout each episode. The show premiered to mixed reviews, but with Jensen Ackles as one of the executive producers, it is hoped that The Winchesters will honor the original show in a big way.
