The Big Bang Theory's Leonard Hofstadter is known for his signature glasses, but fans may be surprised to learn that they never had lenses. Actor Johnny Galecki, who portrayed Leonard, revealed in a 2017 interview that the lenses caused light glare on set due to his height difference with co-star Jim Parsons.
To counteract this, he popped out the lenses and kept them empty for the entirety of the show's run. Despite Leonard's poor vision being a constant story point, the lack of lenses adds an extra layer of humor to the popular sitcom.
